Training Grants
Training Grants are available now for companies in the Glasgow City Council area. These are genuine grants, not loans, and will cover up to 50% of the cost of approved training courses. The grants are paid directly by Glasgow City Council on satisfactory completion of the training, and have operated for a number of years under different names.
The application process is straightforward, and Council staff are very helpful.
There are some qualifying criteria which must be met, but these are not too onerous, and are set to define exactly who is eligible for assistance. The main criteria are:
- Companies must operate from an address within the Glasgow City Council area. Companies with head offices or parent offices outside Glasgow are eligible as long as the staff being trained work in the Glasgow area.
- Companies must have less than 250 employees worldwide (including those in parent companies if the company is a subsidiary company).
- Companies must have a genuine, identified training requirement, and will be visited before and after training by the Council to ensure the training is appropriate for the company.
- Training must not have already started before the application and approval process.
Training providers must be registered with Glasgow City Council (which obviously Quix are, and have been for a number of years). Our registration number is 093.
The application must be completed by the company applying for the grant, however Quix can assist with the planning and application process.
There are two types of grant available, the Council will advise on which is the most suitable for your needs. Full details of the training grants are on the Glasgow City Council website.
